Don Beattie has had a career in Human Resource Management, as the Personnel Director of ICL and later of the BOC Group.
He is now retired and lives in Shropshire.
Don’s career started after graduation from Imperial College London.
He spent his early years in research and development into high frequency radio communications systems before moving into general management, specialising in human resource matters.
He has held past appointments as President of the Radio Society of Great Britain and as President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
He also has held a seat on the Board of Investors in People UK.
He continues to pursue an active interest in amateur radio, holding the callsign G3BJ.
He is currently President of the International Amateur Radio Union (Region 1).
